Red Rocks & an Easy 10

View of Cathedral Rock (approx. mile 5)
The running trails around Flagstaff have got to be some of the best in the country. And for Fall and Winter running nothing beats the trails in Sedona. I don't plan on writing after each run, but Mark and I went down to Sedona today for an easy 10 and we both were feeling so thankful that we live in Northern Arizona.

My run yesterday morning was a chilly one, with below freezing temps. in the forest behind my house. It was a great run, but at 7:30 am it was just so darn cold. In Sedona today the temperature was in the mid-50s in early morning, perfect for running. The trails were  awesome; a good mix of challenging rocky climbs and winding, sandy downhill stretches. We ran around Bell Rock before heading out toward Cathedral Rock, then back to the trailhead, exactly 10 miles (good planning, Mark). We were back sipping coffee at a local cafe before the trails became crowded with tourists and late-rising locals.  -jea
